Andhra CLP meeting to take place by this year end : Rosaiah New Delhi | Saturday, Nov 7 2009 IST
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today said Congress president Sonia Gandhi had felt the need for holding a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in the light of a PIL filed before the court and said the meeting might take place before the year end. Talking to newspersons on the conclusion of his maiden visit to the Capital, Mr Rosaiah said his impression after the meeting was that she may fix the date and inform when it should be held. ''I have explained to her about the PIL,'' he said. Asked if the CLP would be held in 2009, he replied 'yes'. He said both Ms Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expected all Congressmen to stand united be it in elections or later. The party had contributed 32 MPs to the party kitty and the leadership also knew the importance of the people of the state. To a question if it was a mere coincidence that both he and Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of former Chief Minister YSR, an apparent contender for the post, were here, Mr Rosaiah replied 'yes'. -- (UNI) -- 07DI36.xml
