Four auto lifters arrested, 8 motorcycles recovered

Four alleged autolifters were arrested from different parts of the national capital and eight motorcycles recovered from their possession, police said today.

Police said Sunil Kumar (25) and Deepak Kumar (24) were arrested with a stolen motorcycle in the parking of Gandhi Darshan at Rajghat in Central district while Rahul alias Ajay alias Chintoo and Sunny Kashyap were nabbed from Harsh Vihar in North-east district. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Jaspal Singh said, ''During interrogation, it was revealed that they used to steal motorcycles from different areas of the city and after dismantling the stolen vehicles in their auto workshop at Faiz road in Karol Bagh, they used to sell the parts.'' Two motorcycle engines and scrap parts were also recovered from their workshop, police said. ''With the arrest of the other two, many cases of autolifting in West and Central districts can be solved,'' Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-east) S S Yadav said. Further investigation in both the cases was on.
