Over 200 entries for FPS Awards

Over 200 animated films and and visual effects from India and abroad vied for the top awards in 21 catagories at the sixth annual 24 FPS Awards 2009.

The awards ceremony was organised by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematic (MAAC) here yesterday.

The films were judged on artistic and aesthetic aspects of animation film production such as story and concept, animation, modeling, texturing, lighting and visual effects among others including three new categories 'The Viewer's Choice Award', 'Outstanding Contribution to Indian Animation Education Industry' and 'Best Game Design'. Notable winners included Data Quest in the Movers 'n' Shakers catagory, FX Labs (''Ghajini'') and Indian Games (''Moving Maze'') who shared Best Game Design Award, Rhythm & Hues (''Night in the Museum 2'') for Best Visual Effects Feature Film and Outstanding Contribution to Indian Animation Education Industry catagories, and MAAC Delhi (''Pehchaan Kaun'') for Best Animated Film.
