Citu to hold demonstrations In front of PSUs
Kolkata | Friday, Nov 6 2009 IST

The West Bengal state committee of CITU has decided to stage a demonstration in front of the Central public sector units in the state demanding rollback of the UPA Government's decision to disinvest ten per cent shares of profitable PSUs.

Describing the Government move as 'anti people', CITU state President Shyamal Chakraborty said in a statement today that the 'pretext' of raising money for social welfare for offloading shares was 'not acceptable'.

''The first UPA Government was forced to refrain from disinvestment as it was in the need of Left support. Now, with support from the Trinamool Congress the Government has begun the process for selling PSU stakes,'' he said.

Mr Chakraborty said the people of the entire country would join the protest against the decision.
