Senior journalist Pradeep Shinde passes away

Senior journalist Pradip Shinde died here today after a short illness. He was 52.

Shinde is survived by his wife Anju Makhija and daughter Anushka.

Known for his coverage on crime, he was an M.A. in English Literature and had been in journalism for over 30 years. He had worked with The Indian Express, The Daily, Sunday Mail, News-On-Wire, Indian Post and Mid-Day and was associated with editors like Rusi Karanjia (The Daily and Blitz), Arun Shourie, and Hiranmory Karlekar. Lately, he was managing the satellite edition of Matrubhumi as the Mumbai Bureau Chief. He was also the Editor of Gunaah.com - a web portal on crime and punishment, and was the Editor of India Mobile (a monthly magazine on the telecom industry).
