IPLI,IIRM announces 2nd batch of EPIRM

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance (IPLI), in partnership with the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM), announced the graduation of its second batch for the full time Executive Programme in Insurance and Risk Management (EPIRM) today.

EPIRM, a joint initiative between IPLI and IIRM, is the first of its kind programme in India, to offer professional training in specialised subjects such as underwriting, claims and risk management. Insurance Regulatory Development Authority Chairman J Hari Narayan who was the Chief Guest for the occasion felicitated top rankers of the second batch.

The course curricula had been developed together by IPLI and IIRM to bring in the industry perspective in a classroom environment. The executive programme is a two-semester course, which includes both classroom training and internship with IPLI. On successful completion of the programme, the students are placed in the various specialised corporate functions of IPLI. The course fee for the one year EPIRM is Rs 1.35 lakh at present.

Speaking on the occasion, IPLI Managing Director and CEO V Vaidyanathan said IPLI recognises the need to bridge the gap between the demand and availability of skilled professionals in the insurance industry. ''The company's partnership with IIRM, one of the most prestigious institutes for specialised training in insurance, was a significant step in the direction.'' IIRM Managing Director Vepa Kamesam said as a leading institute in insurance and risk management, the course is designed to cater to the ever increasing learning and developmental needs of the industry. ''Our partnership with IPLI to launch the first of its kind programme in insurance and risk management, had been specially tailored to suit industry requirements.'' IPLI has been taking the lead in partnering with reputed management institutes across in India to build a strong resource pool of insurance professionals. In 2007, it launched the Post Graduate Programme in Management and Insurance (PGPM) along with 20 leading business schools.
