India AIADMK fast for fulfilment of TASMAC employees demands
The Opposition AIADMK would observe a day's fast in the city on November 7 to urge the Tamil Nadu government to concede the demands of TASMAC employees. In a statement here, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa said members of the party's trade wing 'Anna Thozhir Sangam' will observe the fast. She alleged that the DMK government was in no mood to hike the salary of TASMAC staff and regularise their services. The Tamil Nadu government was earning a revenue of Rs 12,000 crore from TASMAC, which sells liquor in the state. "There is no job security for them. They are no permanent employees. Their salary has not been increased beyond a level. The state government, which is concentrating on increasing the price of liquor, should also focus on conceding their demands'', she said. She demanded that the government should provide them salary on par with employees in other departments. Anna Trade Union Secretary R Chinnasamy, North Chennai AIADMK Secretary P K Sekar babu, South Chennai Secretary V P Kalairajan and others would lead the fast. -- (UNI) -- 06MS37.xml
