SPG should be sensitive while imposing restriction: HM

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram today said the Special Protection Group (SPG), providing security to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, should be sensitive to the problems of the common man while imposing restrictions. One Sumit Verma (32) had died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) on Tuesday due to delay in reaching (PGIMS) for treatment because of security restrictions for Dr Singh's visit.

Mr Chidambaram told newspersons here it was unfortuate that Sumit could not get timely treatment due to security restrictions.

''The Prime Minister had already said what he had to say,'' he added.
