India More professionals opt for IPS
More professionals prefer a career in the premier Indian Police Service (IPS), if one went by the academic qualifications of the 61st batch of 91 IPS probationers, including 23 women. There are as many as 33 probationers from the Engineering stream, according to the batch profile released by the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy. Five of the probationers did Medicine, while three others had Masters Degree in Business Administration. As many as nine probationers had Doctorate . Five probationers had completed M.Phil. For 44 probationers, this is their first job ever, while the rest had previous job experience. As many as 38 probationers are from Other Backward Classes (OBCs), 37 from the General category, 12 from the Scheduled Castes and four from the Scheduled Tribes.
