Low pressure intensifies in TN, toll mounts to 13
Chennai | Friday, Nov 6 2009 IST

The toll in rain related incidents in Tamil Nadu rose to 13, with three more deaths reported from districts, even as the trough of low pressure over the South West Bay intensified and moved closer to the State, promising more rains for the next 24 hours. Thanks to the Low pressure area becoming more active, the North East Monsoon has become vigorous, with several parts of the State experiencing heavy rains since last night. Reports received at the police headquarters said the toll in rain-related incidents in the State rose to 13 with three people losing their lives due to wall collapse and other incidents. The deaths were reported from the southern Tirunelveli and Nagercoil districts.
