Rain occurs in Rayalaseema, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh

Rain occurred at a few places over Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh while isolated rain occurred over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. However, weather mainly remained dry over Telangana, Met department said here today.

Nellore recorded heavy rainfall of eight cm. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Atmakur and Udayagiri (both in Nellore district) and Satyavedu (Chittoor district) six each, Kavali, Rapur and Vinjamur (all in Nellore district) five each, Badvel (Cuddapah district) and Srikalahasti (Chittoor district) four each, Ongole, Gudur, Seetharamapuram, Sullurpet, Tada and Venkatagiri Town (all in Nellore district) three each, Jammalamadugu (Cuddapah district), Kandukur (Prakasam district) two each and Tirupati, Kamalapuram and Muddanur (both in Cuddapah district) one each.

The minimum temperatures changed little over Rayalaseema and rose at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was above normal at a few places over Rayalaseema and at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius was recorded at Adilabad.

Moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the districts of Nellore and Prakasam of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Rayalaseema. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Telangana and in the remaining districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

With chances of light rain in parts of city, maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31 and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
