Ramayan mela from Nov 20 in Ayodhya

Preparations for the annual Ramayan Mela, scheduled to start from November 20 here, were on in full swing.

Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas president and chief of Ramayam Mela Samiti, Mahant Nrityagopal Das, today said the mela would conclude on November 23.

Uttar Pradesh Governor B L Joshi would inaugurate the event, the mahant informed.

Cultural Minister of the state Subhash Pandey, principal secretary, tourism, Avneesh Awasthi and a number of saints would also be present on the occasion. The Ramayan Mela was for the first time organised in Chitrakoot and after that it is being organised here since 1982.
