Magsaysay award winner P Sainath to address Press Day in Goa Panaji | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST
Eminent journalist and Raman Magsaysay Award winner P Sainath will address the state-level celebrations of National Press Day to be held in the commercial city of Margao in South Goa on November 16. He is the keynote speaker at the seminar organised in this connection by the Department of Information & Publicity on ''Changing Face of Media'', which would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Digambar V Kamat. The meeting will be presided over by the department's Secretary and Commissioner Narendra Kumar. Three senior journalists will be felicitated on the occasion, while Mr Sainath will release a book on Goa entitled ''Another Goa'' by Frederick Noronha. A rangoli exhibition by a eight-year-old boy Master Tanmesh Parab Gaonkar from Usgao on the flood situation in Canacona will be displayed at the venue. The National Press Day function will be organized jointly by Department of Information and Publicity, Goa Union of Journalists, Goas Editors Guild and Goa Photo Journalists Association. -- (UNI) -- 05BY7.xml
