Himachal 166/3 in reply to Hyderabad 328

Riding on an unbroken 91-run partnership of skipper A Mannu (52 n.o.) and P Dogra (54 n.o.) Himachal Pradesh were 166 for 3 in reply to former National Champion Hyderabad's 328 in the first inning of the Ranji trophy super league group A Cricket match at Gymkhana Grouds at Secunderabad today.

But for M P Arjun's 71, which steered Hyderabad to a moderate total, the host would have been in dire straits as they folded up adding on 91 runs to their overnight 237 for 6.

Abhinav Kumar was the first to go adding 2 runs to his 71 of last evening with the score at 247 for 7. Arjun with his yesterday's 15 then took over the reins adding 31 runs with A Absolem (8) for the 8th and 44 runs with OJha (10) before the run out of partner and was the last man out after adding 56 runs to his score on the second day morning.

Hyderabad got the bonus from 39 extras and finished their first knock at 328.

Though Absolem's two quick wickets gave Hyderabad an initiative, the Himachal fourth wicket unbroken partnership took the visitors past the half way mark ending at 166/3.
