India IOCL, NPCIL sign MoU to set up nuclear power plants
State-owned oil major Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to jointly set up Nuclear power plants in the country. The MoU was signed by chairman and managing director of NPCIL, Dr S K Jain and the IOCL chairman, Sarthak Behuria here, an official release said. According to the memorandum, both the companies would collaborate with each other for setting up nuclear power plants in India within the framework of the Atomic Energy Act for generation and sales of Electricity. The NPCIL, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy, had signed similar MOUs with some other companies, including the NTPC, in the recent past.
