Chinglensana moves into semis at Asian Indoor games

India's Maisnam Chinglensana Luwang moved into the semifinals of the mens compound individual event of the 3rd Asian Indoor Games archery event at the Haiphong Youth Gymnasium today.

He will play Reza Zamaninejad of Iran for a place in the finals tomorrow.

Other Indian archers did not measure up to the expectation losing either in pre-quarterfinals or in quarterfinals, according to information received here.

Chinglensana moved into the semifinals beating Chakrit Thongwattana of Thailand 117-114. Abhishek Verma, who made it to the quarterfinals, lost to Mansour Kordi of Iran in the tie-breaker after tying the sore at 113-113.

Kordi had 9, 9, 10 in the three tie-breaking shots, Verma had 9, 9, 9.

Gurucharan Besra lost to Korean Kyeong Su Kim in the quarterfinals of the mens recurve individual event at 113-116.

Earlier, he had stopped compatriot Rajib Basumatary in the pre-quarterfinals at 116-113.

The lone woman recurve archer Punya Prabha Kumari fell in the quarterfinals to Sejin An of Korea at 112-115. Sakro Besra and Vrushali Gorle too were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the womens compound event. Vrushali lost to Nguyen Tien Anh Tran of Vietnam at 113-114, Sakro was out played by Mahtab Parsamehr of Iran at 108-117.
