Income limit for unemployment dole up

The Tamil Nadu Government today hiked the annual income limit for availing unemployment dole.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi ordered the annual income limit to be increased from the present Rs 24,000 to Rs 50,000 to benefit more unemployed youths, an official release here said.

Under the scheme, about 3.54 lakh unemployed youth were getting the financial assistance and the increase in income limit would benefit more, the release said.

While those who studied upto Class X were given Rs 150 a month, those who studied upto Class XII were given Rs 200 and graduates Rs 300, the release added.
