Sir Arthur Cotton's descendent to visit AP Hyderabad | Wednesday, Nov 4 2009 IST
Mr Robert Charles Cotton, grandson of Sir Arthur Cotton who is remembered in Andhra Pradesh for the major irrigation projects constructed during the British Regime, will visit those sites from November 26 to December five. Accompanied by his wife, 84-year-old Robert Charles Cotton would arrive here from London as a State Guest, State Major Irrigation Minister P Lakshmaiah told reporters here. They would visit Iduplapaya to pay tributes to Former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who initiated the ''Jalayagnam'' Programme drawing inspiration from Sir Arthur Cotton who constructed projects across the major rivers-- Godavari and Krishna, he said. The couple would visit major irrigation projects in the three regions of the State and the Cotton Museum in Rajahmundry before leaving for London on December five, he added. -- (UNI) -- 04MS43.xml
