Refinery Technology Meet to deliberate advancements

The 15th Refinery Technology Meet (RTM), a forum to deliberate recent advances in technologies that have direct bearing on the oil sector and refineries, would be held at the tourist spot of Mamallapurma, about 60 km from here, from tomorrow.

Talking to reporters here today, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) Managing Director K K Acharya said the three-day meet being organised by the CPCL and the Centre for High Technology, in association with Oil companies, gives an opportunity for the industry to interact with global experts on the new developments. The theme of the Meet would be ''Harvesting Excellence through Knowledge Partnership: Challenges for the Hydrocarbon Sector.'' To be inaugurated by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas P K Sinha, the meet would deal with various aspects of global energy scenario, environment, refining processes and opportunities with specific emphasis on value addition through refining process optimization, upgradation and integration. Eminent speakers and experts from the Oil and Gas industry, R and D institutions, Engineering Consultants, Process Licensors, Catalyst Manufacturers, both from India and abroad would take part. About 400 participants, including professionals from oil refining and marketing companies, petrochemicals, gas processing and oil exploration, engineering professionals involved in the design, operation and technical services, process licensors, consultants, vendors, scientists, academicians and manufacturers in the field of hydrocarbon processing were participate in the meeting.
