All help for World Newspaper Cong: CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today assured of all possible help to the organizers of the World Newspaper Congress, 2009, to be held from November 30 to December three at HICC here.

He was chairing the coordination meeting along with Information and Public Relations, Tourism & Culture Minister J Geetha Reddy and the representatives of the organizers and the line departments concerned, on the arrangements to be made, according to a press release here. The Chief Minister directed all officers concerned to review and plan the arrangements meticulously in close coordination with the organizers to make the event a grand success.

It is for the first time that the World Association of Newspapers (WAN) Congress is coming to South Asia and the event is being held for the first time in India at Hyderabad in which around 1,800 delegates from all over the world will be participating.

President Prathiba Patil will address the Joint session of 66 World Newspapers Congress and 16th World Editors Forum on December one, 2009.

Expressing happiness over the conduct of the event at Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said this is a major opportunity for projecting India and particularly showcasing the State of Andrha Pradesh and the City of Hyderabad as prime destination for Investment and Tourism.

He declared Information and Public Relations Department as a Nodal Agency for organizing the event.
