India Pugilist commits suicide in AP
A 19-year-old woman boxer allegedly committed suicide at Lal Bahadur stadium here early today. Police said S Amravati, undergoing training at the Centre for Excellence for over four years, took the extreme step after she was reportedly chided by her coach for her below par performance. The clues team arrived to gather evidence at the scene of offence. The body was being sent for post-mortem, police added. Taking a serious note of the incident, the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh decided to constitute a committee for a thorough probe and recommend steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents, official sources said. -- (UNI) -- 04MS8.xml
