India MP Tourism festival displays pilgrim centres
Madhya Pradesh tourism department and India Tourism, Mumbai, highlighted brand 'Madhya Pradesh' through a colourful pictorial display at the India Tourism office at Churchgate with the theme of religious tourism for the state festival, that got underway today. Talking to reporters, Madhya Pradesh tourism board official G S Chahal said the holy cities of Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Maihar, Chitrakoot and Amarkantak draw millions of devotees from all over the world. Ujjain is also the land of the Simhastha, the grand Kumbha Mela, held once in 12 years, he said. Mr Chahal said the Madhya Pradesh government is concentrating more on promoting tourism as it has attracted 22 lakh tourists last year, which include over two lakh foreigners. -- (UNI) -- 03BY22.xml
