AP cops fully geared up to repulse Maoist violence: DGP
Hyderabad | Tuesday, Nov 3 2009 IST

Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police R R Girish Kumar today asserted the State Police was fully prepared to repulse any attack by CPI(Maoists). Talking to reporters here, he felt the increase in naxal violence on the Orissa-Andhra Border might be due to para-military forces tightening their hold on the other side. The State Police was having full control over the situation, he added.

The ''mindless violence'' perpetrated by the naxals was hindering development, he said, adding the State Police was evolving strategies to curb extremism.

Earlier, he reviewed the passing out parade of Stipendary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (Civil).
