India Three killed in separate accidents in last 24 hrs
Three people, including a woman, were killed in three different accidents in the city during the last 24 hours. According to police, in the first incident a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus dashed a motor-cycle from the rear side killing the driver on the spot at Magathane in the western suburb of Borivali at 1300 hrs yesterday. The deceased was identified as Sandeep Anant Patil, police said, adding that the driver of the bus Aaba Yashwant Dhane (44) was arrested and further investigations are on. In the second incident, the complainant Mansukh Patel (22) and his fiance Dipali Sutar (22) was on their way to Andheri from Borivali, when a tempo driver hit their motor bike from rear side near Saibaba mandir in the western suburb of Kandivali yesterday. Dipali, who was the pillon rider, fell down and succumbed to the injuries on way to the hospital. In a hit-and-run case on Eastern Express Highway in Vikhroli, a person was killed on the spot after being hit by a car at 2030 hrs yesterday, police said. The person, not yet identified, was aged 40-45 years.
