India Sensible to retain Younis as captain: Moin
Former captain Moin Khan has described Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision to retain Younis Khan skipper of the national team as ''sensible''. Speaking at the ICC Cricket World audio show, Moin said, ''this was not a right time to accept his resignation and the move to retain him as captain was sensible.'' Younis offered to resign following the allegations that Pakistan deliberately lost a Champions Trophy match against Australia. But PCB chairman Ijaz Butt rejected his resignation and retained the veteran batsman captain until the 2011 World Cup. ''As far as his captaincy is concerned he has done brilliantly and Pakistan team look very united under him,'' said Moin, who played 69 Tests and 219 ODIs for Pakistan. He said if any of the senior players had any issues with Younis as captain then such matters should be dealt under cover. ''If some senior players have an issue with his style of leadership, then those concerns should be discussed behind closed doors,'' he added. -- (UNI) -- 02SPD35.xml
