India Jammu and Kashmir students meet K'taka Governor
A group of 18 students from the Kashmir Valley, who are on an educational tour 'Watan-Ki-Sair', organised by 52 Rashtriya Rilfes and 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, met Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj at Raj Bhavan, here today. The Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force, which is the brain behind such tours, aims to expose young impressionable minds to the world outside thereby enabling them to identify themselves more closely with their fellow countrymen. The students were from backward and hilly areas like Dobah and Gaonri of Baramulla District. Praising the J and K Chief Minister Omar Abdulla, he said ''J and K will definitely improve on all quarters under his leadership. Kashmiris are secular. We can see more and more Omar Abdullas and Nehrus when once the Kashmiri students get good education.'' ''This trip would enable students to come out of stressful life. The standard of education is low in Kashmir when compared to other states,'' Abdul Jabbar, the school teacher who accompanied the students, said. -- (UNI) -- 02MS60.xml
