Rebel BJP MLAs leave for Delhi
Hyderabad | Monday, Nov 2 2009 IST

With rival BJP group in Karnataka shifting to New Delhi, supporters of Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janardhan Reddy and Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy, camping here, have left the city for New Delhi, party sources said today.

About 20 BJP MLAs, supporting the mining tycoons, had camped in a star hotel in the Hitech city here to prevent supporters of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa from wooing them. Pressing for a leadership change in Karnataka, supporters of the Reddy brothers wanted Assembly Speaker Jagdish Shettar to be made the new Chief Minister of the state.

With Reddy brothers bent upon having their way, the crisis in the BJP has further deepened, with the party central leadership, reeling under the impact of the poll debacle in the three states of Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh.
