India 10 killed in road accidents in K'taka
Ten people, including a minor, were killed and 30 injured in three road accidents in Karnataka today. Police said four people died on the spot and six seriously injured when a private bus mowed them near a temple in pilgrimage centre of Kukke Subramanya in Bangalore Rural District, about 70 km from here. The deceased had been identified as Latabai (55), Vijayalakshmi (52), Anil Kumar (25) and Tejas (15). The injured had been admitted to hospital. In another incident, a granite-laden lorry rammed into an overloaded van, killing five people on the spot and injuring 20 near Hassan, about 280 km from the city. All the dead belonged to the town and were returning from a temple in the nearby Shantigram. The dead were yet to be identified. The injured had been rushed to government hospital in Hassan, of whom six were in a serious condition. A 19 year-old girl, identified as Radhika, was run over by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation Bus while crossing a road.
