India MRC racing season set to begin Nov 2
The 45-day Madras Racing Season is all set to commence tomorrow with a total stake money of Rs 13,34,52,000. A press release from the Madras Race Club here yesterday said, the total value of the cups and trophies to be presented are Rs 13.25 lakh. As many as 330 races have been framed for the season. Fifteen trainers and 50 jockeys will be seen in action during the season which will end on March 25, 2010. To perpetuate the memory of former committee members of the club, Class I Cup Races are being run. A new cup race has been framed in the name of Zamindar of Chikkavaram, a reputed race horse owner, the release said. -- (UNI) -- 01SPM11.xml
