Bangalore | Sunday, Nov 1 2009 IST

Four people were mowed down, while 15 others injured, when a bus ran over a group of pilgrims at Kukke Subramanya at Doddallapur Taluk here today.

Police said the accident occurred when the tourist bus carrying a marriage party, parked by the roadside, rolled back when the boulder placed behind the rear tyres moved.

The bus, which was out of control, ploughed down on a group of people waiting to enter the temple.

Two of the deceased were identified as Vijayalakshmi and her son Anil Kumar (25). The other two were yet to be identified.

The injured, which included three police constables, had been hospitalised, police added.
