'Teerth Niketan' will cement Indo-Sri Lankan relations: SL PM

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake inaugurated the international Buddhists' religious and tourists destination, 'Teerth Niketan' in Sanchi town of Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district. ''India and Sri Lanka have been sharing thousands-years-old social and religious relationship and 'Teerth Niketan' will further cement the relations,'' said Mr Wickremanayake in the function here today. Sri Lanka Maha Bodhi Society set up the spot at the cost of Rs three crore. More than one lakh devotees and tourists flock at the place every year. Sanchi is also famous for the stupas. Mr Wickremanayake arrived at the state capital yesterday for the state's three-day tour.
