UBI's Q2 net profit at Rs 84 cr

City-based United Bank of India's net profit increased to Rs 83.83 crore in the Q2 from Rs 70.28 crore recorded in the first quarter of this fiscal.

An UBI communique said the net profit of the bank stood at Rs 154.11 crore during the first half of 2009-10, as against Rs 184.71 crore during the full year 2008-09.

During the first six months, the back achieved a total business of Rs 1,05,959 crore recording a y-o-y growth of 41.4 per cent.

The deposits soared to Rs 64,740 crore registering an analysed growth of 43.1 per cent.

The UBI also crossed the business level of Rs one lakh crore to be the first eastern region based bank to achieve the status, the communique claimed.
