LJP-RJD to contest together in Jharkhand: Paswan
Patna | Sunday, Oct 25 2009 IST

LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan today reiterated that his party would contest Jharkhand Assembly elections in alliance with the RJD.

Mr Paswan, also a former union minister, told reporters here that the LJP-RJD alliance would continue in future, adding all the coming polls would be contested together without any iota of doubt. He said the alliance had performed well in the recently held Assembly by-elections in Bihar and would repeat the same feat in Jharkhand as well.

''I had exhorted all the party workers to gear up for Jharkhand Assembly elections and ensure the defeat of communal forces,'' he said adding every attempt should be made by all ''like-minded'' political parties to pave the way for the installation of a secular government in Jharkhand after the elections.

Mr Paswan alleged that during its tenure in Jharkhand, the BJP had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the masses in the state.

''The BJP was not concerned with the suffering of the masses and was only engaged in implementing its communal agenda. It has to bite the dust in the electoral hustings next month,'' he added.
