Sahar India Pariwar to support 15 shooters for London Olympics

Sahara India Parivar, the prime promoter and patron of sports in India, has now extended its helping hand to Indian Shooting. Sahara India Pariwar along with the National Rifile Association of India (NRAI), has identified 15 shooters including many upcoming shooters and five women shooters naming Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Gagan Narang, Samresh Jung, Ranjon Sodhi and Manavjit Singh, who will be provided support till after the Olympics at London in 2012. Sahara India Pariwar also announced to sponsor the National Championship and a new shooting event added to the schedule called 'Champion of Champions'. Sponsor of Indian Cricket and Hockey, Sahara India Pariwar earlier this year, also adoptd Indian Boxing, Wresting and Archery.

In this series under the four disciplines of Boxing, Wrestling, Archery and Shooting, Sahara India Pariwar is supporting total 56 sportsmen for four years untill after London Olympics 2012.

Subrota Roy, the Managing worker and Chairman, Sahara India Pariwar said they have always accorded priority to those activities, which generate positive emotions in a human being and sports is one of them. ''India has immense competing power in skill sports and those which are similar to our traditional sports and games. The support to shooting is a part of our series and a commitment towards promoting all such sports at ground level and those which have potential to bring fame to the country,'' he added.

''I am confident that these young shooters will make our country proud and establish new standard of excellence as we have done in the past,'' Roy asserted.
