Swati Piramal Assocham's new president

First time in the history of apex chambers, industry body Assocham today elected a lady president Dr Swati Piramal, Director of Piramal Healthcare.

Dr Piramal, an Harvard educated doctor and scientist with a Masters Degree in Public Health, also holds a Medical degree from University of Bombay.

Dr Piramal, presently the Senior Vice President of Assocham, replaces Mr Sajjan Jindal, Vice Chairman & MD, JSW, who demitted office after completing his tenure.

Mr Dilip Modi, Assoacham Vice President and Vice Chairman, Spice Corp Ltd, will now be the Senior Vice President of the Chamber.

Mr Rajkumar Dhoot, a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Promoter Videocon Group of Industries, have been elected as the new Vice President of Assocham.

Dr Piramal is on the Board of many leading companies including Piramal Life Sciences Ltd, Piramal Healthcare Ltd, Piramal Glass Ltd, Piramal Enterprises, Allergan India Pvt Ltd, SBI Capital Markets Ltd, India Venture Advisors Pvt Ltd and Prudential ICICI Asset Mgmt Company.

She is also on the Board of Governors of IIT Mumbai and IIM Kolkata and has also served on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Prime Minister.
