India Narayan Rane attacks Shiv Sena for its utterances
Congress leader and Maharashtra Industries minister Narayan Rane today said as the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance was sensing defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections, they were using foul language and baseless accusations. ''We are contesting the elections on development issues, whereas they are taking up emotional issues such as religion, language and name of Mumbai. Congress-NCP will get a big majority and win at least 150 seats,'' Rane told a press conference here. ''Though I do not read 'Saamna', in an interview in the Sena mouthpiece today, Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and executive president Mr Uddhav Thackeray have appealed to people not to bring 'rule of eunuchs' again. Congress has proved its manliness by winning the Lok Sabha elections, whereas Sena is a party which is weakening with each passing day and has lost its manliness, therefore, they are using such language,'' Rane said. Rane also lambasted Shiv Sena for attacking Congress president Sonia Gandhi, saying that the criticism of party leaders will be dealt with in the same language used by the Shiv Sena. He also criticised the language used in 'Saamna' against North Indians. ''How can Uddhav handle the Chief Minister's responsibility when he cannot handle his brother, family and party. He has lost faith in himself and therefore is making accusations'', he said.
