Sourav to discuss state cricket development with TCA

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is scheduled to arrive here within a couple of hours for a one-day visit to attend several programmes in Agartala including interaction with the cricketers of the state, Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) officials said.

TCA general secretary Arindam Chakraborty said they would felicitate Ganguly in the presence of Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar this evening in their annual prize giving ceremony, while there would be a meeting between TCA and Sourav regarding development of the cricket here.

''We have proposed to him to impart training to our cricketers and advised TCA to promote budding cricket talents,'' Chakraborty said, adding that the initial discussion had already been completed and Sourav had agreed to extend support.

Ganguly is scheduled to leave the state tomorrow morning.
