India HAU sets up Community Radio Station for farmers
A Community Radio Station has been set up at Ch Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to provide agriculture related technical knowledge to the farmers. The university has got licence from the Central Technical Information Department and wireless planning and coordination wing of the Central Telecommunication Department to run this radio station. Stating this here today, Vice-Chancellor Krishan Khokhar said the station would bring intensity in the Distance Education Programmes of the university. He said the radio station of the university would start broadcasting various programmes on agriculture development of the university by the month of August. With the functioning of this radio station, not only the farmers, but also livestock breeders and other sections of the society would be able to get latest agriculture related knowledge sitting in their homes. -- (UNI) -- 26DR105.xml
