India Four-day Indian cultural event to be held in UK from Sept 10
A UK-based company would organise a four-day business and cultural event 'Village India and Experience Gujarat in UK' from September 10 to 13, to echo Indian culture. During a curtainraiser function held here yesterday, the owner of Sense Experience, Ashok Patel, a non-resident Gujarati, who is organising the event, told mediapersons,''The grand four-day ceremony in Leicester is aimed to echo the ancient and vast culture of Gujarat and India.'' Mr Patel, who originates from Sanjaya village of Kheda district living and is in Leicester for 40 years now, said ''The initiative has an objective to introduce Indian and Gujarati culture to Britons, non-resident Indians (NRIs) and non-resident Gujaratis NRGs, particularly the young generation, who are losing touch with the motherland and its languages.'' To encourage all the Indian based businesses situated abroad as well as all the business entities rooted in India with vision of expansion in the UK, an international trade show will also be organised, he added.
