To provide aspiring students with the tools of filmmaking and nuances of acting, Keon Arts Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Canadian A K Films Inc, is soon going to open an international film academy in tinsel town. Keon International Film Academy (KIFA), the first of its kind in the country, has been designed by globally acclaimed film producer and director Rick Bennet, who has also designed the curriculum of renowned Toronto Film School. Well known Bollywood producer Smita Thackeray has formally launched the website of KIFA here yesterday, a company release stated here today. Keon Arts Chief Executive Officer Keshav Paneri, who was also present on the occasion, informed that the academy will be hosting a two-month-long intensive accredited workshop on filmmaking and acting from this April. ''Till now, it has been very expensive to learn the art of film making. However, for the first time in India, we are offering this privilege to the common man, who couldn't even dare to dream about learning this craft,'' he added. Informing about the course Rick Bennet said ''We are excited to be in India, which churns out the highest number of movies in the world. India has a rich cultural heritage, which commands immense interest in the west and the world will embrace its cinema like never before in the coming years.'' With faculty of the best film technicians and instructors from Hollywood, New York, and Toronto, the participants would be introduced to the latest technology in the world of filmmaking, including state-of-the-art 2k and 4k HD Cameras, 'Hollywood' lighting, Steadicam Handling, and the latest in Audio technologies. The workshop would be divided into two parts -- Film-Making and Acting with topics like script-writing, pre-production, production, post-production, editing, audio, lighting, casting to audition, theories of acting and many more. The programs would have various special guest lecturers from India's film fraternity, to share their experiences. Besides, some of the world's famous technicians and instructors from Hollywood like Keith Murphy of fame blockbusters 'American Pie' and 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' will share his part on steady-cam industry.
