1000 students to compete in National Inter-School Games Gurdaspur | Tuesday, Dec 23 2008 IST
As many as 1,000 boys and girls from 10 States and Union Territories will compete in the third National Inter-School Tournament (Group-II), being hosted by the Punjab Sports Department in collaboration with Sports Authority of India here from December 24 to 27. Assistant Director Sports Sohan Lal Lotey said competitions would be conducted in football, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling for boys and girls. The Games included in Group-I are: archery, athletics, badminton, basketball and hockey for boys and girls. Punjab Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah will inaugurate the games tomorrow at the Government College Stadium. -- (UNI) -- 23SPD39.xml
