Hearing adjourned to Jan 6 in Mallika Sherawat obscenity case Mumbai | Friday, Dec 5 2008 IST
A session court today fixed January six for the final hearing and order on a revision petition filed against Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat by a social activist for an alleged ''obscene'' performance on December 31, 2006 in a five star hotel in the western suburbs. Advocate Nitin Pradhan, appearing for J W Marriot hotel, which is also a party in the complaint, told the judge S T Mahajan that his client have not yet received a copy of the evidence, submitted in the court by the complainant Vinod Jain. The judge directed Mr Jain to furnish the copy of evidence and then adjourned the hearing till January six for final hearing and order. Earlier, Metropolitan Magistrate G R Wankhade had dismissed the petition on the grounds that no substantial evidence was submitted by the complainant against Ms Sherawat and others.
