Muslim minorites stage dharna
Vijayawada | Saturday, Nov 29 2008 IST

A large number of Muslim minorities lead by Urban District Minority Cell, a wing of Telugu Desam Party today staged a dharna in front of Sub-Collector's office to protest against sale of wakf land by the Andhra Pradesh government and its failure to protect welfare of minorities.

Krishna District Minority Cell President Abdul Razak and Urban District Cell President Firoj who led the dharna told newspersons that the Congress Government in the state was totally neglecting the Muslims who voted for congress.

The Government had cheated the muslim minorities by failing to fulfill its promises made before elections, they alleged. The Congress Government disposed the wakf lands illegally to the multinational companies and realtors, they charged.
