Seafarers hold demo in TN Tuticorin | Tuesday, Oct 7 2008 IST
Members of National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) today staged a demonstration in front of the district collectorate here, demanding the release of the 18 Indian seafarers hijacked by pirates off Somalia last month. They also demanded that the Centre must take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur. Two seafarers -- Banirayan Lobo and Jerabin hail -- form Tuticorin district.
