Amitabh becomes wee bit philosophical, dwells on success
Mumbai | Wednesday, Oct 1 2008 IST

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan today said success in the Film Industry is not final and there is no guarantee it will sustain, as each day is a struggle for survival.

Getting a bit philosophical, Amitabh said, ''There never really is a moment, when one can with any assurance say that one's success is final. Be it in business or in any profession. And never more so in our film industry. Every day is a struggle for survival--to do better, to improve, to reach acceptability, to succeed.'' ''The courage to continue is what counts. Because when you continue, you open the possibilities of success. You open the possibilities of overcoming the failure of the past,'' he wrote on his blog.

''When you fail, you reach the bottom of the ladder symbolically.

But as you look up, you see the rest of the ladder and its steps.

Those are the steps where we need to go and climb, to move higher.

'' And this will never happen, if we do not put in the courage to try and continue. But how can we ever decide on it unless we try to climb them.

''So I get up every morning, look up and see the steps of the staircase of life and I pull myself together to start making the effort to climb. I may tire, not have enough strength and energy, but I must try to continue. And try and try and try and never succumb to that which displays a lack of courage,'' he said.

''Many among you question my desire to continue to work. Many are caustic in their references to my age and my disposition. To them I have but this to say. I may now be at the bottom of the ladder, but so long as I am on it and can see the steps above me, I must continue to may be climb. Not to reach the top again. That would be too presumptuous. But to remain. Just remain on the ladder. At any step,'' the thespian said.

Amitabh also greeted people on the occasion of 'Navratri' and 'Eid'. ''Is it not divine that religious celebrations of different beliefs, come together almost at the same time. My love for all and may all your celebrations be divine,'' he wished.
