Steps will be taken to face drought like situation: R R Patil Kolhapur | Sunday, Jul 20 2008 IST
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said the state government is planning to take various steps to tackle the present drought-like situation in the state and a decision to provide fodder to farmers' cattle will be announced in the current state assembly session. Talking to reporters at the Ujalaiwadi aerodrome, located at the city's outskirts, Mr Patil said the government has directed all the district collectors to carry out works to provide jobs to people in the state under the Employment Guarentee Scheme. Replying to a query, Mr Patil said none of the NCP MLAs was unhappy with his functioning in the party and this picture has been created only by the media. When Mr Patil's attention was drawn to the third front formed by the Jansurajya Shakti Party and Vidarbha Janata Congress Party, he said that there is no alternative to the Congress-NCP alliance.
