To prepare the youth of the region for a suitable career in Bollywood, a Centre for Media and Entertainment Studies (CMSE) was launched here today. ''The CMES also aims to highlight the untapped tourism potential of North India and its rich cultural heritage to promote it as the cineworld's tourism destination,'' CMSE chairman Manmohan Singh, a well known director of Punjabi films, told reporters here today. CMES, a venture of the Institute of Tourism and Future Management Trends (ITFT), would provide employment generating media-entertainment research and training, he added. The Centre would run a bachelor's degree in Media Entertainment and Film Technology, which would include practical training with media entertainment industry, ITFT Group Executive Director Gulshan Sharma said. The CMSE would also have a one-month Acting Course for those who wanted to make acting their career, he added. Besides, a film screening and appreciation programme would also be run free of cost on every Sunday, Maj Sharma said. -- (UNI) -- 16DR1.xml
