Gov'nor launches cleanliness drive in Bihar
Patna | Thursday, May 15 2008 IST

Bihar Governor R S Gavai and wife Kamaltai Gavai today exhorted the people to be particular about maintaining cleanliness in their homes and surroundings to keep the eruption of diseases at bay.

Launching the cleanliness drive at Rajbhawan by personally clearing the bush in its campus with a spade, Mr Gavai stressed on the importance of keeping one's dwelling places clean, free from dirt and pollutants.

With a broom in hand, the Mrs Gevai also washed off the dirt from the Raj Bhawan campus and appealed to the people, particularly the womenfolk to keep their homes clean. ''Even in our busy lives, people should take time off to clean their homes and surroundings and encourage others to do the same,'' he noted.

The first citizen of the state also inspected the quarters of the Raj Bhawan to have a look at the state of cleanliness of the employees.
