Manpreet's ton bolsters Zone B

A brilliant century by Manpreet (115) helped Minor District Zone B score 272 for 6 in allotted 95 overs against Chandigarh on the first day of the Punjab State Inter-District Under-16 Cricket Tournament for Markan Trophy at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here today. In reply, Chandigarh have scored 39 for 1 in 22 overs. Zone B won the toss and elected to bat first. In stipulated 95 overs, Zone B piled up 272 for 6. Manpreet 115 (11x4s), Arjun 48 (8x4s), Sarpinder 54 not out (4x4s) and Jaipreet 23 were the main scorers for Zone B. Naveen Dhiman (2 for 92), Vaibhav Garg (2 for 35) were the main wicket takers for Chandigarh. At the close Chandigarh had made 39 for 1. Jaskaran Singh and Naveen Dhiman were batting on 14 and 6, respectively. Manan Vohra made 12 before returning to the pavilion. He was dismissed by Manpreet (1 for 8).
