Police seize more porn movies made by 'swami'
Kochi | Thursday, May 15 2008 IST

The Kerala Police today searched the bank locker of controversial Swami Amritachaitanya alias Santosh Madhavan and seized more cassettes of pornographic films allegedly made by him, exploiting minor girls.

Senior police officials told UNI that about 25 micro video cassettes were seized from the Federal Bank locker of Madhavan here today.

These cassettes also contained 'blue films' made by Madhavan, they said. Hidden cameras had been installed in the swami's flat and his 'Santhitheeram' guest house to make the films. However, the officials dismissed as ''speculation'' certain media reports that some film actresses were also featured in some of the CDs seized by the police from Madhavan's flat. Madhavan was arrested here on May 13 on charges of rape of minor girls and cheating a Dubai-based Keralite woman of Rs 40 lakh.

A lower court here had yesterday remanded him to five days' police custody.

Meanwhile, BJP Yuva Morcha Kerala President K Surendran demanded a CBI inquiry into the case as there were allegations of the involvement of some relatives of state Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan with the self-styled godman.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Surendran said the police was not investigating into the land and hawala transactions of Madhavan and was instead focusing only on the exploitation of minor girls.

Alleging involvement of senior police officials and film stars with Madhavan, he said an impartial probe was not possible by the state police and an independent agency like the CBI should be handed over the case.

To a question about the defamation case filed against him by the Home Minister's son Vineesh for making allegations about his dealings with Madhavan, Mr Surendran said he had records to prove these and he would produce them in the court.
